California Public Utilities Commission Contract Management System

For the Energy Division of the California Public Utilities Commission, we developed a customized contract management system to assist them in tracking and managing the several dozen contracts that will evaluate the effectiveness of the more than 200 Utility-sponsored Energy Efficiency Programs.  The system is capable of creating contract templates, creating invoices, reviewing and approving invoices, noting payments and aging, automated messaging and a study team review/comment area for key evaluation deliverables. 

New Construction and Modernization Efficiency Enhancement Program for Schools 

For Southern California Edison we are working in cooperation with the Division of the State Architect to automatically review projects that are not yet eligible to be qualified as High Performance Schools or may not be eligible for Savings By Design. For these projects, we work with the design team to improve the design and specification, to improve the school's eligibility and to save energy in Southern California Edison's service territory. This program will last two years and is considered an Innovative Design in Energy Efficiency Activities (IDEEA) project.  

California Codes and Standards Enforcement Study

As part of the Quantec, LLC study team, Benningfield Group is assisting in quantifying the 'noncompliance' component of the Building Energy Efficiency Standards.  Predicted energy savings from the Standards are only realized when building divisions, builders and manufacturers follow through in the proper documentation, installation and inspection of  measures required by the code. In addition, assumptions made by the code development team in relation to building starts and other statistics may need 'ex ante' adjustments.   This preliminary study looked at five of the new measures required in the 2005 code and quantified the permit process, design and installation components of qualified projects in terms of their adherence to the code.  While preliminary indicators say the process is not optimal, the opportunities to save energy by improving process and education of code requirements are substantial. 

Lightfair International

We  provide application support to the AmericasMart and Lightfair websites. These sites support a continuously operating wholesale market and trade shows produced by the AmericasMart.   For these sites, we created an interactive floor plan that allows the sales staff, potential and current exhibitors to modify the company information, request support services change the location and shape of their booth.  We also programmed the site to allow trade show presenters to create and update their speaker bio and presentation A recent addition to the AmericasMart system added interactive booth sales to sell trade show booths and associated services.  The system tracks the sales of all booths and services, creates invoices and receives payments.
